Add HelpWell to your website or app

Open your product's Install page. Add the exact website addresses under Allowed sites, including the scheme, such as https://example.com. Different subdomains need their own entries.

Copy the script tag shown there into your site's shared layout before the closing body tag. Use the tag exactly as generated, including its data-api value. The Set this up with an AI assistant prompt includes instructions for your framework and any existing Content Security Policy.

For a signed-in app, use Identity signing to configure its server. Keep the identity secret in server-side secret storage. The server creates a short-lived token for the authenticated customer; the browser receives the token, never the secret. Identify the visitor after sign-in and reset the widget after sign-out.

Verify the installation by opening the widget on an allowed page and sending a test message. In HelpWell's Inbox, a signed-in test should show that customer's identity. Installing the widget or identifying a customer does not subscribe them to marketing email.
