Collect newsletter consent
Use a HelpWell form with an unchecked consent checkbox that clearly describes the email people are signing up for. Include your company details, postal address and privacy-policy link. Enable double opt-in so the person must use the confirmation email before they become subscribed.
HelpWell records the submission, consent wording and confirmation state. A new form submission or an app sign-in alone is not permission to send newsletters. Billing events also never subscribe a contact.
When importing an audience, preserve unsubscribes and include genuine consent evidence for each subscribed person. Leave people with unknown consent unsubscribed from marketing until they opt in. A consent form can collect new permission; it cannot create evidence of past permission.
Lead enrichment, when configured, runs only after a HelpWell form's email confirmation, once per email. Imported contacts and existing contacts are not enriched through a backfill.
Keep journeys and newsletters as drafts while reviewing their content, audience, timing and unsubscribe footer. Publish or schedule them only when you are ready to send.
