Show help articles in the chat widget
Visitors can find your help articles in two places in the chat widget: the Home tab and the Help tab. The Help tab is titled "Help center".
#What the Home screen shows by default
The default Home screen has these sections, in this order:
- A search box.
- An Ask a question button, which starts a new conversation.
- A "What's new" section.
- A status link, if your product has a status page URL set.
#Pick articles to show on Home
You can add an articles block to Home to show articles you choose. Give the block two things:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Title | The heading above the list, for example "Start here". |
| Articles | The articles to list, each identified by its slug, for example billing/invoices. |
The widget lists each article by its own title. The slug billing/invoices, for example, appears as "Exporting invoices".
Note
The widget skips any block type it does not recognise, and keeps drawing the rest of your Home screen.
#The Help tab
Visitors open the Help tab from the widget's tab bar. Its header reads "Help center". The Home greeting does not appear there, because the greeting only shows on Home.
