Draft a reply with AI
Open a conversation and use Write with AI in the reply box, or type /draft. The AI writes a suggested reply and puts it in the box. It does not send anything. You edit it and send it yourself.
Note
A draft is only text for you to review. Nothing goes to the customer until you send it.
#Before you start
Write with AI runs on your workspace's own AI key and model. Set these up in Settings → AI:
- Your API key
- The model
- A monthly spending cap
If no key is set, the draft does not run. You see a message that points you to Settings → AI.
When your monthly cap is reached, Write with AI stops.

#What the draft is based on
The AI draws on:
- The conversation itself
- Internal notes your team left on it
- Articles from your help center
You can also give it a short instruction, such as "Tell her refunds are on". The draft follows that instruction.
